Thailand and the United States co-hosted a bilateral online meeting titled “U.S.-Thailand Virtual Space Consultations.”

On September 12, 2025, Thailand and the United States co-hosted a bilateral online meeting titled "U.S.-Thailand Virtual Space Consultations." The meeting was led by the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Embassy in Thailand, and the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), led by Pakorn Apaphant, Ph.D., Executive Director of GISTDA, with representatives from over 15 space-related agencies from both countries in attendance.

The objective of the meeting was to exchange policies and operational progress, which will lead to opportunities for future collaboration in developing new technologies and innovations for mutual benefit. The consultations also served as a foundation to prepare for the upcoming 3rd U.S.-Thai Civil Space Dialogue.

Discussions covered several key topics, including:

• Space law and the U.S. Artemis program

• Space Situational Awareness (SSA)

• Feasibility studies for establishing a spaceport

• Application of space technology for marine resource management

• Progress updates on the Airborne and Satellite Investigation of Asian Air Quality (ASIA-AQ) project

• Both sides expressed their commitment to continuing this cooperation to expand its scope and build upon the success of this discussion platform.
