Monitoring changes in forest area

The monitoring system of forest area changes is an analysis of the high-resolution satellite images combined with the geographic information system to monitor, verify, and analyze forest area changes, by presenting the outputs in the form of maps and reports comparing forest area from past to present.  The concerned agencies are allowed to make use of this information for efficient management of forest resources. In Fiscal Year 2014, the system was improved in some aspects, such as the expansion of service area from the Dong Phayayen – Khao Yai Forest to cover the entire country, an increase of Web Feature Service, the coordinates-based data search, monitoring of system usage through Google Analytics, and the maps export and printing.
