GISTDA Update: COSMOS 482 Spacecraft Debris Re-entry

GISTDA, through its Space Technology Research Center, issued its latest alert on May 7, 2025, stating that the COSMOS 482 spacecraft is currently orbiting at a low-Earth altitude, averaging about 150 kilometers (as shown by the red trajectory line in the image).

The spacecraft is expected to re-enter Earth’s atmosphere on May 10, 2025, at 4:13 AM (Thailand time). Based on the current analysis, the predicted re-entry location is within the territory of Russia (yellow point).

GISTDA will continue to closely monitor the situation and the potential risk zones 24 hours a day, and will provide ongoing updates asap.
